Manila, Philippines - The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, a line agency under the Department of the Interior and Local Government mandated for the safekeeping and development of all city, district and municipal inmates in the country, are in need of applicants.
General Qualification for Jail Officer 1
No person shall be appointed as uniformed personnel of the BJMP unless he/she possesses the following minimum qualifications:
- A Citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
- A Person of good moral character;
- Must have passed the nuero-psychiatric evaluation, medical examination and drug test for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
- Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution of learning;
- Must possess the appropriate civil service eligibility;
- Must not have been dishonorably discharged of dismissal for cause from previous employment;
- Must not have been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
- Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than thirty (30) years of age. Provided, that a waiver for age requirement shall be automatically granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities;
- Must be at least one meter and sixty-two centimeters (1.62m) in height for males, and one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57m) for females: provided that a waiver for height requirement shall be granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities; and
- Must weigh not more or less than five kilograms (5kgs) from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age and sex.

- Duly Accomplished Personal Data Sheet (revised 2005)
- Two (2) Pieces latest passport-size picture with a name tag
- Original Transcript of Records
- Original College Diploma
- Birth Certificate issued by NSO
- Original Certificate of Eligibility or Board Rating (Civil Service Professional, RA 1080,
- Penology Officer & PD 907)
- Valid Clearances (i.e. NBI, Police, Barangay, MTC, RTC & Prosecutor's Ofc)
- Valid Community Tax Certificate
- Certificate/s of Previous & Present Employment
- Certificate/s of Seminars/Training Completed
- Marriage Certificate issued by NSO (if married)

Salary / Compensation
The Bureau of Jail Management & Penology (BJMP) salary table based on the standardization of compensation of government officials and employees under Section 5, Article IX-B of the Philippine Constitution :
- Jail Officer I = 29,668
- Jail Officer II = 30,867
- Jail Officer III = 32,114
- Jail Officer IV = 35,456
On top of these, those who will be recruited must be willing to undergo four months of rigorous physical and education training, be assigned in any part of the country, safeguard and develop inmates to promote public safety and be privileged to receive a monthly salary equivalent to that of police and fire officers.
