What is the Philippine Marine Corps?
The Philippine Marine Corps (PMC ) is the marine corps of the Philippines, a naval infantry force under the command of the Philippine Navy including the Philippine Fleet. It is in charge of manning garrisons in shoals like Ayungin Shoal where a marine detachment is stationed on the grounded BRP Sierra Madre. It conducts amphibious and expeditionary warfare, as well as special operation missions.
Just like the other branch of AFP, the Philippine Navy (Hukbong Dagat ng Pilipinas) also has its modernization every year by having newly bought ships and other equipments. It also has continuous hiring process to strengthen their force.
Recruitment
The Philippine Marine Corps is still accepting applicants who would like to join and be part of this prestigious institution. For those interested individuals, you may proceed to the Philippine Marine Corps Recruiting Center, Headquarters Philippine Marine Corps, Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Naval Station Jose Francisco, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. Below are the pertinent details in connection with the nation-wide recruitment of enlisted personnel and officers:
A. QUALIFICATIONS
1. OFFICERS
- 21-28 years old
- Baccalaureate degree holder
- Single and a natural born Filipino
- At least 5’0 in height
- Physically, mentally and psychologically fit for active service
- Of good moral character
- Must not have any pending civil/criminal case
- Must pass the AFPABT, IQ and SWE examinations
2. ENLISTED PERSONNEL
- 18-23 years old
- At least 72 units in college, graduate of a 2-year vocational course or possesses any skill duly certified by TESDA
- Single and a natural born Filipino
- At least 5’0 in height
- Physically, mentally and psychologically fit for active service
- Of good moral character
- Must not have any pending civil/criminal case
- Must pass the AFPABT and IQ examinations
B. REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION
- NSO birth certificate
- diploma/transcript of records
- original marriage certificate of parents
- two pcs 2X2 colored picture with white background
C. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Basic Pay:
OFFICERS
- Basic pay of Php 32,375.00 for an officer in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant with lots of opportunities for increases as may be promoted to the higher ranks up to General level.
- Additional monthly allowance of Php 5,750 pay.
- Longevity pay 10% of the current monthly base pay compounded every five years of active military service.
- Cash gifts and bonuses.
- Subsistence Allowance, clothing allowance
- Billeting and housing facilities
- Insurance and healthcare benefits
- Job security, career advancement and local and foreign schooling
ENLISTED PERSONNEL
- Basic pay of Php 16,215.00.
- Additional monthly allowance of Php 5,750 pay.
- Longevity pay 10% of the current monthly base pay compounded every five years of active military service.

E. HOW TO APPLY
a. Visit and submit the requirements to the PMC recruiting center and mobile recruiting areas.
b. Take the AFP Qualifying examination and IQ test as scheduled
c. After passing the exams, take the physical fitness test
d. Monitor the schedule of deliberation and release of results.
e. Prepare accordingly for the rigid training
F. TRAINING
Those recruits who passed the exam and screening, both men and women will undergo rigid physical and mental training for 3 to 8 months at the Marine Corps Training Center in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.
