Davao City (Feb 8, 2015)-Once again the Filipino Fighters from the ALA Boxing Stable had shown their unfazed power as they faced their Mexican rivals in Pinoy Pride 29: Fist of Fury held in the University of Southeastern Phils. (USEP) Gym at Obrero, Davao City, Saturday night.
This is the official fights results:
Jason “El NiƱo” Pagara sent Cesar “El Dolar” Chavez down in the opening round with a hard right to the ribs followed by a glancing right to the head. The Mexican got up but was decked again by a series of hooks to the ribs.
Pagara retains his WBO International jr. welterweight title and the ALA Gym fighter moves up to 35-2, 22KO’s while Chavez drops to 23W-8L, 11KO's.
Genesis “Azukal” Servania won a lopsided unanimous decision against a retreating Juan Luis “Perla Negra” Hernandez of Mexico
“King” Arthur Villanueva kept his undefeated record with an excellent boxing performance against the tough former world champion Julio Cesar “Pingo” Miranda of Mexico in a ten round non-title contest.
Villanueva is now 27W-0L,14KO’s while Miranda drops to 38-12-2,29KO’s. Miranda lost his WBO flyweight title to Brian Viloria in 2011 by unanimous decision.
Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo stopped Thai Sukkasem Kietyongyuth in the fifth round. Magsayo was rather tense in the opening round and Sukkasem caught him with a few head shots. The Boholano took it well and a Muay Thai takedown in the second woke Magsayo up and he peppered Sukkasem with straights to the head.
Meanwhile, the only lightweight in the list of ALA Stable, Arjan “Spartan” Canillas (10-0-2, 8 KOs) of Tuburan, Cebu registered the second stoppage win in the show. A solid body shot sent down former Indonesian champion Stevi Ongen Ferdinandus (15-8-1, 8 KOs), 132.5 lbs, for the Filipino’s knockout win at 2:48 mark in the 4th.
